Following decades of evolution through Swing, Jazz, Gospel, Blues, and Country, it was Rock 'n Roll that emerged as the predominant music form of our time, and its power and influence are still resounding today -- Fats Domino, Floyd Cramer, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Dudley Brooks (Elvis Presley), Johnny Johnson (Chuck Berry) and Ray Charles set the way markers; Paul McCartney, Brian Wilson, Leon Russell, Stevie Wonder, Van Morrison, Elton John, Billy Joel & Jackson Browne experimented and discovered new, ever-expanding horizons...

"History of Pop Piano & Piano Rock Legends" explores and pays tribute to this irrepressible, powerfully engaging and impassioned music, and the rich, enduring legacies of its greatest artists.

"The Spirit of Pop"

In stark contrast to today’s saturation of commercialized provocation and crass vulgarity dominating the past 20 years or so of pop music (quantified also numerous times even scientifically now as having devolved or degenerated in regard to both lyric and musical variation and sophistication), this program explores the native and deepest threads of Spirituality inhabiting a surprising number of songs found peppered across the soundscape of Pop Music through the decades —

Hope & transcendence; affirmation and gratitude; faith and humility, joy and giving; renewal and rebirth— these are the ageless themes that have found expression through the words and music that have become an enduring and especially invaluable part of the American Pop Music Lexicon.

From Irving Berlin, Arlen & Harburg, Loerner & Lowe & Sister Rosetta Tharpe; From Curtis Mayfield & Rod Stewart  to McCartney, Lennon & Harrison, Bob Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel and Van Morrison; from Neil Young, Cat Stevens, Bob Marley, James Taylor,  Don Henley, Marc Cohn, to Tim Mcgraw and Jack Johnson

"Poets & Masters of Song"

Modern “Popular” music has in our time too often forgotten its place and heritage as a means of Inspiring its listeners in the same way that traditionally only Poets & Writers in the past have touched and moved us, with their fresh and unique, undeniably pure and compelling visions and truest insights:  from the Eternal Wellspring that has served as the source of works by Emerson as it has the books of the Bible, to Jonathan Swift and Emily Dickinson, from John Milton and Lewis Carroll to JRR Tolkien, JK Rowling and Maya Angelou, this Voice has adopted new musical incarnations, and so often with those oddly unmistakable, immediately recognizable melodies that seem drawn from the Soul of Life itself…

This is a Tribute to that Gallery of Lyrics and Music whose essence has passed through those special and beloved  Masters of Song  ("Writers and Poet Laureates"), who have “swept away the dust in our daily living” -- uplifting and enriching the soil of our hearts, dreams, and imaginations.

Songs featuring music & lyrics inspired, drawn and adapted from poems and traditional texts, including classic works by:

Robert Frost; ee cummings; Kahlil Gibran, Paul Laurence Dunbar; Karle Wilson Bakker;

MB Eddy; Lewis Carroll; Rudyard Kipling; The Bible, JRR Tolkien, THW Webb --

With Music & Lyrics [& adaptations] written by: Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Cat Stevens, Neil Young, Mark Knopfler, Van Morrison and more...

Paul Anton Doran
Tony Doran Pic 02058.jpg

Paul / Anton Doran has been performing professionally for over 20 years. His piano-vocal music has delighted audiences from all around the world, and has taken him to Europe, the Caribbean, South America, as well as all parts of America (including Alaska & Hawaii). He has also recorded nine albums of original music, writing lyrics as well.

As an entertainer on the “front lines” between the ears of audiences and the music they want to hear, he has benefited from and developed a unique perspective on the changes occurring over the past several decades, and across varying genres; put most simply, he has discovered that the music that audiences respond to the most and for the greatest lengths of time, is the music that “loves” them back…  And this is harmonizes with a long standing sense that the greatest art is that which not only (or merely) expresses, but that art which also itself creates, evoking or inspiring the further renewal of life’s highest, and most intimately divine aspects—including love, joy, communion, hope, perseverance, faith and overcoming, both now and in the future...

The Legacy Concerts series pays tribute to the work and the artists in popular music who have (whether knowingly or not) carried out that mission, and contributed to this most noble musical— ie, Human— Heritage and treasure.
